I offer you this Lenten prayer: Let us fast from judging others and feast on the Christ dwelling in them, fast from emphasis on differences and feast on the unity of all life, fast from apparent darkness and feast on the reality of light, fast from thoughts of illness and feast on the healing power of God, fast from words that pollute and feast on phrases that purify, fast from discontent and feast on gratitude, fast from anger and feast on patience, fast from pessimism and feast on optimism, fast from worry and feast on Divine Order. Keep in mind, In Him all our sorrow, in Him all our joy. (author unknown)

Gala excitement galore! Our campus is filled with many giving so generously of their time! I am overwhelmed with the creative genius, the unending hours donated, the organized system…. Our Gala chairs have planned an amazing evening for all. The students have some unbelievable art work prepared with the help of very talented assistants. Many have donated time, talent and treasure to our community already. Thank you! I can't wait for March 20th and look forward to seeing you there!

The 2010 North County Parochial School Track Meet will be held on Saturday, March 27th at Cathedral Catholic High School. Registration forms are in today's envelope and on-line. Registration form and fee are due back in the school office by March 12th. Questions? Please contact Coach Elbers.

'Students, parents, parishioners, family members and friends are all welcome to join us for "Catholic Schools' Night" with the San Diego Padres (vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks)on Friday, April 16th at Petco Park. Parent Council Meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, March 4th, 8-9am in the Parish Ministry meeting room. All are welcome.

This Friday's noon dismissal gives everyone the opportunity to support a lunch time graduation fund raiser taking place at Rubios in Solana Beach from noon until 2:00. Please download a copy of the flyer on our website to ensure that 20% of the proceeds are contributed to our graduation class of 2010! Thank you for your support.

Thank you to all who joined us last Friday for the 'Academy' hosted Fish Feast. Come again this Friday and enjoy a wonderful St. James Parish community tradition. Reservation forms are online or in the school office.

NOON DISMISSAL this Friday, March 5th. There will be after school day care.

Please join us for Mass this Friday, March 5th as the 3rd grade assists with the Liturgy. 3rd grade is also sponsoring an almsgiving project, "Pennies From Heaven". They are collecting money that would have been spent on self to be shared with those that have less. A collection jar is available throughout Lent in Room 3. The money collected will be donated to Catholic Relief Services or another local charity.
