Principal Mrs. Kathy Dunn“Let Me Be As Christ To You”

Wow!  Are we ready for you!  Last week, the focus of my note was gratitude to all of you.  This week, I want all of you to be reminded of what an amazing staff you have here at St James.  Each of them has welcomed me warmly, with an open and generous heart.  They responded to my every request and more, while still making sure that everything is ready in the classrooms and around campus for this new year.  We have done some exciting planning, some rearranging, and even some housecleaning.   Above all, be assured that you have an extremely professional, energetic, absolutely extraordinary staff that is prepared to help your child reach his/her greatest potential.

A few notes:

School begins at 8:00am, Monday, August 31st.  Please join us for coffee and welcome in the hall immediately following dropping off your child.  Live Scan will be on our campus from 7:30-10:30 if you need to be cleared to work with our students.  If you have been scanned anywhere for the Diocese of San Diego, you do not need to do it again.

School dismisses at 12 noon on the 31st.  In order for me to evaluate our end of day pick up procedures, I’m asking that ALL students be picked up in the front of the school.  I will let you know if and when there will be any exceptions to this process.  Please be patient as we get into a routine and understand that your children’s safety is my priority.  Please also be respectful of our neighbors and all speed limits.

Make sure to go to the website and register to receive our News Email Alerts.  You will find the registration on the Wednesday Envelope page.  (Be advised-we are going green!)

All visitors and volunteers must enter the school from the front door and sign in.  Again, your child’s safety is most important to all of us.

Please email or call teachers to make an appointment if you need to speak with them.  I have asked that they keep focused on our students while in all supervisory roles.  Can you see a theme developing?  We really do want your child to be safe and our main focus while on campus.

Please join us for our first school liturgy, Friday, Sept. 4th at 8:00am.

We are all prepared and excited to begin the 2009-2010 school year!  I look forward to meeting all of you soon.  See you Monday!
