Principal Mrs. Kathy Dunn“Let Me Be As Christ To You”

At last Friday morning’s liturgy Fr. Timon spoke to us about being present at Mass.  He suggested that it is not enough to just attend Mass, but that we should PRAY Mass.  He added the idea that “to pray the Mass means to listen deeply in your heart.”  Beautiful words.  They give me an opportunity to invite some of you, particularly SJ parishioners, to consider participating as Eucharistic Ministers.  It is a blessing filled way to participate in the Mass, to strengthen our faith and to be an example to our children.  Please let me know if you are interested and I will put you in contact with the parish coordinator/trainer.

Parent Council Meeting tomorrow, 8:00am in the Ministry Center.  All are invited to attend.

The Blessing of the Animals will take place next Wednesday, October 7th at 2:30p.m.  All animals must be on leashes or in crates/containers of some kind.  Please go directly to the blacktop with your pet.  Pets are not to be brought into the classrooms.

Tuesday, October 6th, Gerardy Photographers will be here to take individual school pictures.  Appropriate free dress, as stated in the handbook, may be worn by students.  Of course, it is always OK (and in fact preferred by me-fair warning for next year) if students are in their school uniform.

Live Scan will be on our campus tomorrow from 7:15-9:00a.m.for your convenience.  Please remember that you must be Live Scanned to work with students at SJA.

Thank you to Joanna Costello for coordinating a successful magazine/cookie dough drive!  She is also working on the Box Top collection campaign.  There is a Halloween collection sheet in today’s flyer section.  Students can earn a Halloween Carnival ticket by completing and turning in the collection sheet by Oct 30th.

Sally Foster Gift Wrap packets are coming home today.  Please support this 8th grade fund raiser.

5th Grade will be assisting with the Friday 8:00am Liturgy.  Please join us.  Following Mass each Friday in October (the month of the Rosary), we will pray a decade of the Rosary proclaiming the gift of life and to continue to promote a culture of respect for life.

Why do Catholics do that? This week: Why do Catholics make the Sign of the Cross?

To SJA Parents from Ki’s:
Hi, I have received many questions about our ordering and cancellation policies so I thought I would send an email. Our business is based on pre-ordering, with the flexibility of only having to order by noon the day before (and 9:00 PM on Sundays). For the first month of school we allow customers to come through the lunch line without an order with no penalty, we also allow people to call up to 8:00 AM the day of and add orders.  However, beginning October 19th we will be adding a $1.00 surcharge to each lunch if the order is not placed online by the cut-off time. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but the amount of paperwork and effort we have to go through when you do not pre-order on the web-site makes this necessary. Cancellations can be made online by noon the day before, but we also allow you to call up to 8:00 AM the day of if your child is sick. You will receive in-store credit to use for future purchases. We want to thank all of you for your participation in our lunch program. It's time to order for October!  Janet 760-828-5236 www.kisschoollunches.com
