Principal Mrs. Kathy Dunn“Let Me Be As Christ To You”

World Mission Sunday
will be celebrated this Sunday, October 18th.  On the day we were baptized, we became missionaries and were called to share our faith with those around us.  During this Month of the Rosary and Respect Life, consider praying the World Mission Rosary to support the life-giving presence of the Church among the suffering and the poor throughout the world.

St. James Academy 20th Annual Golf Tournament is 5 days away! Is your foursome ready to go?  Do you have your child care form into the office?  Are your dinner reservations made? (Everyone is invited to attend the dinner following the tournament and child care is available for dinner only guests.)  Don’t miss the chance to hit a Hole in One and win a Lexus Hybrid.  Visit sjagolf.com or drop off your registration at the school office.  Join us for a great day and help support our students at St. James Academy.

And did I mention that FREE Daycare is still available at the school for all SJA students.  Pizza & Baskin-Robbins ice cream will be provided.  Lomas Santa Fe Country Club will also be extending their daycare hours to accommodate our golfers and volunteers.  Contact information for both is available on the website or contact Debra Brady directly at: debrakbrady@cox.net or (858) 228-0617.

ITBS Testing is continuing through October 23rd.  Please make an extra effort to have your children at school on time.  It is very disruptive during testing to have students arrive late.

Sally Foster Gift Wrap orders are due this Friday, October 16th!  Thank you for your support for the SJA Class of 2010!

Cookie Dough will be distributed next Tuesday, October 20th in the parish hall between 2:00 and 4:00p.m. You must pick up, or make arrangements to have someone else pick up, your cookie dough at this time. We have nowhere to store the frozen cookie dough if it is not picked up on time.  Questions?  Please contact Joanna Costello (760) 598-0621. Thank you.

We are looking for some experience or interest in joining or supporting our newly organized Development Committee.  Specifically we are looking for help with grant researching and writing and with the Solana Beach School District in the areas of Title 1 funding and obtaining stimulus funds.   Please contact me if you are able to help.

Catholic Boy Scouts who are interested in earning the Ad Altare Dei Emblem should contact John Nadworny by e-mail at nadworny@gmail.com or 619-990-8824.

A description of the program from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting can be reviewed at www.nccsbsa.org/emblems/AdAltareDei.php.  We will meet Thursday nights from 7 - 8:15 PM at a parent's house in Carmel Valley .  The first meeting for all parents and scouts will be on 22 October from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Thank you!
