Principal Mrs. Kathy Dunn

“Let Me Be As Christ To You”

For everything Thy goodness sends.” A Thanksgiving poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson includes this line and is such a beautiful reminder of the many gifts in our lives. I wish all of you a Thanksgiving filled with all of the truly good things God gives us that make our lives enjoyable and fulfilling. I am so thankful for all of you in my life and for the generosity with which you share your goodness!

And did you know that there is such a thing as Principal’s week? Apparently there is, because I have been showered with beautiful wishes from all of our students, your children. What a wonderful surprise!

Please remember to be good neighbors to the residents surrounding the academy. I received a phone call requesting that our parents “please slow down” when driving to and from the academy. This is for all using both Nardo Ave. and Del Mar Downs (road going out to Villa de la Valle from the church). Thank you.

The Peppermint Shoppe is December 13th and 14th. It sounds as if it will be a fun event for all: students, families and our parishioners. Your assistance, however, is needed and there are many ways you can help. Please take a moment to read the several fliers regarding the wonderful SJA tradition. Thank you to Erin Pynes for again spearheading this outreach program.

Information regarding Christmas Card/Ornament orders:

1.  Card and ornament orders are due on Friday, November 20th by the end of the day.  That is THIS Friday.
2.  If your child's art did not appear in the online galleries, art was not completed by your child.  This is probably due to an absence on the day of the art's creation.
3.  If you're either not pleased with your child's art or your child's art is not in the gallery, you are welcome to submit art for scanning and card/ornament production.  Include the art with your order form(s).
4.  REMINDER:  If you missed your chance to order ornaments last year, you may still order using art from the Christmas 2008 art gallery.  It can be found at www.sjakidsart.com under "Art Galleries."  Scroll down the page to find the Christmas 2008.
Please direct questions to Lisa Cooper at support@sjakidsart.com.

Gala planning is underway!  If you did not have a chance to attend the kick-off meeting last week, the presentation is available on-line at the following link  http://www.sjagala.org/gala. htm.  The Gallery: Gala 2010 is our biggest fundraising event of the year.  Your support through talent, knowledge or time is needed!  It is the perfect way to get involved, get to know other families, meet your hourly contributions and have fun!  For more information, please contact Doreen Smillie, Kristian Keeney or Kimberly Caccavo.
